Jeff Grabill

Hub Director, Associate Provost for Teaching, Learning, and Technology
Rhetorician. Teacher. Espionage-Novel-Expert.

As Director of the Hub, Jeff is responsible for carrying the vision of the organization, ensuring our efforts are on mission, and building and maintaining relationships that are necessary to do thoughtful and compelling work. Jeff also serves Michigan State University as the Associate Provost for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, and he remains a Professor of Rhetoric and Professional Writing.

Prior to his current role, Jeff was a department chair, founded and helped direct a digital communication research center, and co-founded and helped run an educational technology company (Drawbridge Inc.). His research focuses on how digital writing is associated with citizenship and learning. That work has been located in community contexts, in museums, and in classrooms at both the K-12 and university levels.

Jeff earned his AB at Wabash College and MA at Kent State University. He earned his PhD in English with a focus on Rhetoric from Purdue University.
